So, it will be the third week running our little sidewalk breakfast stand tomorrow and we are dubbing it the Ralston Creekside Speakeasy, given its out of the way location adjacent to Iowa City’s other waterway. We are figuring out our food costs so the prices have changed to reflect our using local, wholesome ingredients. Here is the new menu:
At the other end of the stand, we will have lots of peppers of sweet, medium and hot varieties, broccoli, radishes, beets, shallots, garlic, potatoes, sun chokes, winter squash, pumpkins, tomatoes, carrots, herbs, swiss chard, collards, kale, mixed greens, and okra. Of course we will have tons of eggs and broilers and chicken feet as well.
For those of you in the CSA, there are 4 markets left after tomorrow. Please take note of your credit line and plan on using it up before the end. It is a good strategy to buy chickens for winter in order to use up an outstanding balance toward the end of the market.
Thanks and see you tomorrow!
