Salt Fork is excited at the response we received last Saturday at the Iowa City Farmers’ Market for our first ever prepared breakfast. Sorry to those of you who did not know about it ahead of time. Thanks to all who participated. Jeff Schworn did a masterful job putting together completely fresh, made-on-the-spot meals to order and we are looking forward to this coming Saturday, September 22. We will have many of the same offerings with the addition of freshly jammed Salt Fork red raspberries on a De Luxe grilled biscuit with, you guessed it, on-the-spot whipped cream. As a reminder and in addition to Jamie’s buttery buiscuits, all our food is made with Salt Fork veggies, fruit, eggs, and (looking forward — chicken). Pork sausage is made each morning from Pavelka’s Point ground pork and we also utilize Lois’ ham. We will attempt to use what is available within the season. J will be cooking and you are welcome to stop by and observe the cooking procedures that lead to the finished products we put forth. Our menu is below. Weekly specials will be added according to what’s harvested the day before. This week: fresh tomato on toast with fresh dill aoli! Thanks for your support!
